Growney, McKeown & Barber - Jon Barber

Jon H. Barber has been a Florida estate planning, family law, and adoption attorney for the past 35 years.

Jon was born and raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Ohio University in 1970 where he participated in Army ROTC. Upon graduating, he entered the U.S. Army, serving as a logistician in Kentucky.

Upon his release from active duty, he enrolled in Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated in 1976 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar that year and to the Florida Bar in 1977. He continued to serve our country as an Army Reservist and Retired after serving over 20 years.

Prior to practicing in Florida, he served as a Directing Attorney for the Office of Public Advocacy regional office in Kentucky. In 1981, he moved to Florida and became a partner in the law firm of Growney, McKeown & Barber, P.A. He practices primarily in the areas of family law, wills, probate, and landlord/tenant law.

Jon is a certified Family Law Mediator. Seeing children find their “forever families” through adoptions holds a special place in Jon’s practice. Jon has been the attorney for over 500 adoptions in Pinellas and Pasco County.
